I didn’t. We’ve had a super busy few months but I’m back! Here are some photos to show the last few months.
And last but not least, Our Family’s Birthday (aka our 10th anniversary)!

This week, Kol was stung by such a cute little caterpillar! It had reddish-brown fur similar to a tuff of guinea pig fur. But, don’t let the adorable little thing fool ya! It’s considered one of the most venomous of caterpillars. They won’t kill you but it sure will hurt and send you to the ER.
Seriously, Kol was very lucky that it was a mild sting. He was in a ton of pain for an hour. It scaried me silly. But, we came away from our adventure with a little more knowledge and huge respect for this backyard neighbor.
Here’s our picture of our little dangerous cutie:

What do you have when you have a two for one book review day? Then, you add in a few cool weblinks? Why! You shake it all up and it’s Theme Day!
Recently, I read a wonderful book called, “I Love Dirt” by Jennifer Ward. This beautifully organized book has 52 outdoor activities to get parents and children outside. The activities are simple to do and organized in 4 sections: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. In addition to this book, Ms Ward has just released a new one for tweens called “Let’s go Outside!” Both books are must have additions to any Parent’s library, regardless if you homeschool or not.
Of course, you can pick & choose your outdoor activities. But the Vasko family are planning to do one a week. This year, Nature Study will be a big part of our learning. We can’t wait! And I hope that I’ll remember to add a few photos along the way.
So, here are some super cool links!
I hope you enjoyed Today’s theme! Now, grab the kids and head outside!
Is there such as thing as creative scheduling? Is it possible to make calm out of chaos?
I think so! For the last month, I’ve been preparing our homeschooling schedule for the new year. This can be an incredibly overwhelming challenge. Just imagine trying to find time to teach a 3rd grader, 1st grader and a preschooler (K-3.) PLUS add in a one year old whose newest joy is climbing on anything she get her cute little knee on top of.

Rapunzel wanted down but Baby just wants to climb up!
As moms, we all need God’s creative power to order our homes into a place of peace, joy & safety. Which is why I was thrilled to find a wonderful resource (Managers of their Homes) put out by www.titus2.com. I’ve read many scheduling type books but this is the first book that actually takes you step by step. Plus it has all the extras you would need. You go from start to finish and you only need a pencil or pen! How cool is that!
Also, they have recently added a book on chores (Managers of Their Chores) & homeschooling (Managers of Their Schools.) I haven’t read them yet but will start their book on Chores. If it’s as great as Managers of their Homes. I am going to be one really happy mama!
I’ll upload my new schedule as soon as I finish tweaking it.
