Pajama Bottoms! I found the easiest pattern at Hand Made Mommy. It’s so very simple!
Kids’ Clothes Week Challenge – Project 1 May 12, 2010
So, I took the Kids’ Clothes Week Challenge over at Elsie Marley. The main rule is to work on children’s clothes for one hour a day. That’s it! Even I can do that, right?
Here’s my first finished project! Almost a year ago, I was given this beautiful white corduroy dress. The only problem was the monogram that needed to be removed. After carefully picking out all the stitches, I found that the material underneath had to be covered. It was too mussed to be left as it was.
I was stumped. I didn’t know that to do. Until, I realized that my beautiful half yard of matryoshka fabric was almost a complete match of the ribbon colors. YIPEE! A beautiful dress is now beyond beautiful!

Bread is Baking……… December 8, 2009

I tried out a new Honey Wheat recipe today! The two loaves were gone in less than two hours. This recipe is a keeper!
Basket Weaving Fun! December 8, 2009
This past weekend, I attended a Basket Weaving Worshop at Space 301. It was such fun! Our instructor Anne Rose was just great. She had videos & pictures with interesting history & tidbets about weaving with Pine Needles. Then, she showed us the basics and we got down to work. Now, I know why handmade baskets cost so much. It does require a lot of time and thought to make a truly beautiful basket.
Decking the Halls are Underway! November 16, 2009
This weekend, I started making Christmas decorations! I found the felted sweater Christmas Trees at The Long Thread. She has two versions – Large & Small. I made both but will admit that I like the larger one the best.

My Purse is Finished! November 12, 2009
It took me a while because I couldn’t decide if I wanted the inside to be lined or not. After trying several times, I finally decided to leave it unlined. I just didn’t like anything I tried. Anyway. The purse is super simple and small but I love it! Isn’t my model lovely?

We have blue pickled garlic! October 6, 2009
See that’s why you ALWAYS make a small batch when you are trying something new.

But don’t worry it’s still edible. We just won’t be using this batch as Christmas gifts. Are you wondering WHY it’s blue? It’s a chemical reaction! You can find more information here. The bottom line is this: the next time I pickle garlic, I should cook them just a bit.
Onion wise, all went really well.

Blue Garlic, anyone?
Crafty Days: Dressing up my Bedroom Lampshade! September 15, 2009
When I stumbled on this project at The Long Thread. I knew I had to try it! I needed to try it! Seriously, Ellen’s website/blog is the prefect place for crafty-beginners to find adorable projects.
Of course, as a beginner, there was a problem with the top stitch being wobbly. But, Ellen gives great, easy to understand directions and it was instant gratification for me. Plus, it ties into my bedroom nicely and gives me a happy feeling when I walk in.
